Nole/Rattler Pride Contest
Local Business Saturday, an initiative aimed at boosting the local economy, has launched the Nole/Rattler Pride Contest.
The contest encourages local business to decorate their stores with Florida State University and Florida A&M University paraphernalia or offer football-themed promotions, according to the initiative’s website.
One participating business, Pan-Handlers Kitchen, decorated its storefront statue to emulate a football. Sporky the pig has a FAMU and a FSU logo painted on either side of his body.
The Local Business Saturday Initiative was developed by Tallahassee Mayor John Marks, local business leaders, the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, Capital City Chamber of Commerce, Locally Owned Tallahassee and Market District Tallahassee.
